Wrestlers on The Simpsons

The Simpsons has been around so long that they’ve featured enough wrestlers for you to make a whole roster out of for your Universe Mode in the WWE 2K games. Or to be more relevant with the times, create them on Fire Pro Wrestling World. Here’s a list of them.

The Simpsons

“Gorgeous Grampa”
Season 24, Episode 14
3/3/2013

If there’s one thing I’ve learned thanks to Maffew’s Botchamania, is that wrestling nerds love them some Simpsons references. Especially, when you can tie them into a joke about wrestling. So here’s a Simpsons episode full of wrestling references and jokes about wrestling.

10 Count! All-American Fictional Wrestlers

Birds of War - Always SunnyPreviously, I covered the best All-American wrestling attire that’s ever been worn inside the squared circle. And it still stands as the definitive guide in patriotic wrestling gear. Now, in celebration of American’s independence, I’d like to bring to your attention the most All-American fictional wrestlers to come across pop culture.

10 Count! Decembers to Remember

IMG_3265Wrestling, in particular the WWE, is full of cringe-worthy goodness when it comes to the entertainment aspect of sports entertainment. Christmas-themed segments on Monday Night Raws or pay-per-views are quick to reassure you, the fan over 18, that you are clearly watching a program aimed at children. Sometimes there’s a gem amongst all that coal, but usually they’re bad. The A-Team

The A-Team NBC tv show image“Body Slam”
Season 4, Episode 7

80’s Television. It was nonsensical, over the top, cheesy, and most of all, terribly awesome. So it would make sense that a show like The A-Team would have wrestling’s Hulk Hogan guest star as wrestling’s Hulk Hogan. This episode alone could serve as the sole time capsule that epitomizes everything 80’s about 80’s TV shows.

Code Monkeys

Season 1, Episode 11

Code Monkeys is an old G4 network show from the same guy who brought us other short-lived shows like Adult Swim’s Minoriteam and Comedy Central’s I’m with Busey. Having watched all three shows, I can honestly say I miss Minoriteam the most. But hey, at least Code Monkeys had a wrestling episode.

Mongo Wrestling Alliance

Mongo-Wrestling-Alliance-CharactersThe Entire Series
1/23/2011 – 7/31/201

An animated send-up of all things pro wrestling. Mongo Wrestling Alliance enhances the stereotypes made famous by professional wrestling and inserts the tropes we’ve all come to know and love into the everyday personal lives of their characters. It’s wrestling nerds’ wet dream. Not so much for fans of comedy. Although far from a nightmare, it’s definitely along the lines of one of those abrupt jerking movements that startle you awake just as you’re knocking out.
